PTG STUDIOS “Great Taste”Rowe Pottery Works
--Midwestern studio offers crocks, plates, vases and more--
March 31, 2006, Deerfield Beach, FL – Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Rowe Pottery Works for its innovative, educational television series, Great Taste. The company will be featured in a segment on Accents to Finer Living in our Collection Series. The show will be aired nationally, as well as on regional cable stations.
Rowe Pottery Works, established in 1975 in Cambridge, WI, began as a two-person pottery studio. Interest in collecting antique cobalt blue decorated salt glaze crocks and jugs was the inspiration to change the studio's pottery product line in early 1980. Since then, Rowe Pottery has been making museum-quality reproductions of Early American salt glaze crocks and jugs. In addition, the line has expanded to include new products, bold designs and warm colors based on input from wholesalers and customers.
Family-owned Rowe Pottery Works offers a unique and inspiring approach to its pottery, which is based on historical aspects. They feature accurate replicas of popular historical styles. Like Rowe's authentic designs, the salt-glaze firing process uses traditional methods to create the historic pottery. The salt glaze firing process has been traced to 12th century Germany and was brought to the United States for use by early American artisans. Using this process is another step in Rowe's commitment to re-creating pottery with historical roots. Some of the product lines are offered in the classic blue and grey from the Early American era, or you may choose from limited edition collections. All pottery is handcrafted in Cambridge with a hand-thrown and decorated method, the same process that was used 150 years ago.
The company store is a popular destination for travelers and tourists in the Midwest, located at the center of the quaint village voted "the most friendly small town." Saturdays are exciting at Rowe Pottery Works because guests are invited to observe the unique process of potters actually throwing their clay on the wheel. They carry a wonderful selection of gifts and home accessories, including the full line of Rowe pottery and many other items from companies from all over the world.
The Provincialware collection. recently added to their repertoire, also represents a subtle change from the company's 30-year tradition of focusing on salt-glaze pottery. “This new line will provide people with pottery that affords more flexibility for a variety of decorating styles,” Justin Janisch, Rowe Pottery Works president, explained.
The 2006 Limited Edition Collection and 2006 Historial Collection are available for purchase at the Rowe Pottery Works company store, through the catalog, online at http://www.rowepottery.com/ and in more than 800 fine stores around the country.
