PTG Studios “Today’s Family” to feature Idaho’s Pristine Middle Fork Salmon River, Frank Church Wilderness Area
Deerfield Beach, FL –
Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce that it will feature
Idaho’s Middle Fork Salmon River in an upcoming segment of Platinum’s innovative, educational television series,
Today’s Family. The company will be featured in “Unique Family Destinations,” part of
Platinum Television’s Bringing the Family Together Series.
Carving through 106 miles of country still relatively untouched by man, Idaho’s magnificent Middle Fork Salmon River is one of the top ten whitewater rivers in the world and one of only eight rivers to be included in the original ‘Wild and Scenic Rivers Act’ of 1968. The Middle Fork is the crown jewel of Idaho’s vast river system which features more floatable whitewater rivers than any state other than Alaska.
“As families continue to look for vacation opportunities that provide entertainment, adventure, and fun for all generations, guided expeditions on the Middle Fork Salmon River are an example of what the ultimate family vacation should be,” said Carl Wilgus, administrator, Idaho Tourism Division.
There are more than 80 whitewater rapids, several natural hot springs, abundant wildlife, waterfalls, miner’s claims and Native American cultural sites. Gone are cell phones, televisions and computers, while present are family bonds made through the challenges of navigating whitewater, and the intimacy of quiet isolation and breathtaking natural settings.
Knowledgeable, expert guides not only help navigate the river, they teach families about the river and surrounding wilderness. They also prepare delicious, home-cooked meals for breakfast lunch and dinner—they even do the dishes and set up camp!
