blood test and it showed her blood sugar

My wife had her blood test and it showed her blood sugar and cholesterol as 270. In her family history many members have heart disease and wife is doing regular workouts to avoid this. She also takes care to eat only good fat food items. Please suggest me some recipes that she can make at home which would help her to raise the good cholesterol but reduce the bad cholesterol.
